Funded Hours
We open 8.30am – 3.00pm, Monday to Friday in the term time and have nursery places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
We offer the following funded sessions / hours:
- Early Bird Drop Off 8.30 – 9.00am, chargeable at £2.00
- 2 year old free, fully-funded places for non-working families with an eligible 6 digit code.
- 2 year old free, fully funded places for 15 hours a week for working families with an eligible 11 digit code.
- 3 and 4 year old free, fully funded (Universal) places for 15 hours a week. No code necessary.
- 3 and 4 year old free, fully funded places for 30 hours a week for working families with an eligible 11 digit code.
This means your child could attend St Thomas a Becket Nursery from 9.00 – 3.00pm, Monday to Friday, at no cost to your family!
Chargeable Extras:
We take every effort to limit additional costs to parents, please see below:
- Paid session costs as below
- Food provided by families, snacks always available for forgotten lunchboxes!
- Nappies and wipes provided by families
- Voluntary annual contribution of £2.50 for suncream (or provide own for children with sentivities)
- Trips out are limited as we use our allotment and the field at no extra cost to families, we would consult with parents before organising any other trip that may incur a cost to families
We offer the following non-funded sessions / hours for families with no codes or wishing to purchase extra hours:
- 2 year old parent paid sessions at £8.25p/h
- 3 and 4 year olds parent paid sessions at £5.50p/h
Please note, our paid session costs are reviewed each September for an annual increase
Our Resources and Facilities
The Nursery is an independent, registered charity, run by Trustees. The nursery opened in 1999 and operates from a, purpose built venue for 2-5 year olds. The nursery is situated in the grounds of St Thomas a Becket Primary School.
The building is all on one level for easy access, including the outside area.
We work closely with the school Early Years department where we can, to share services and facilities to even further enhance the aspirations and opportunities for the young people in our care.
The nursery is a registered Early Years Education provider, offering childcare to all local families who have children aged 2-5 years, subject to admissions policy and process:
8.30 – 9.00am early bird session .
9.00 – 12.00pm = funded session or brought by the hour at given hourly rate
12.00 – 1.00pm = lunch session included within funded hours or charged at hourly rate if hours all claimed
12.00 – 3.00pm = funded session or brought by the hour at hourly rate
All day 9.00 – 3.00pm = 2 x funded sessions
Extra sessions may be purchased, dependent on place and staff to child ratios capacity.
